The Righteous Cry Out
A Day 27 devotional on the God who recognizes your cry, draws near, and delivers in His perfect time.
Today's Reflection
I once heard a story about a sheep that got lost and fell into a pit. The shepherd did not run around in confusion; he listened to hear the cry of the sheep.
Because he knew the sound of his sheep's bleat, out of all the noise, he could recognize his own. And that sound led him right to where the sheep was.
This reminded me of how God is with us. He does not just know our names; He knows our voices.
He knows the difference between a casual prayer and a desperate cry. He hears the ones we whisper, and even the ones we cannot fully put into words.
And His Word says He hears.
Not only when we feel strong. Not only when we have done everything right. But when the righteous cry out, He hears, and He delivers.
There are times it may feel like He is silent. Like you have been praying and nothing is changing. Like maybe He has not heard you this time.
But God is not distant, and He is not ignoring you. Just like that shepherd, He knows exactly where you are, even when you feel lost.
Your cry is not wasted.
So cry out to Him without trying to sound perfect. He is listening, and He is near. And in His perfect way and time, He will come through for you.
Prayer
Lord, thank You that You hear me when I cry out to You. Even in moments when I feel unseen or unheard, remind me that You are near. Help me to trust Your timing and Your heart toward me. Teach me to come to You openly and honestly, knowing that You listen and You care. Amen.
