Before I Call
A Day 28 devotional on the God who is already present, already attentive, and already at work before you even pray.
Today's Reflection
Have you ever had that moment where you are just about to check up on someone, and then your phone rings... and it is them?
It almost catches you off guard. You had not even acted on the thought yet, but somehow, they were already reaching out.
It is such a surreal feeling.
And it made me think about God.
The Bible says that even before we call, He answers. Not after we have said the perfect prayer. Not after we have figured out the right words. Before.
Which means God is not reacting to us; He is already ahead of us.
Before the tears fall, He knows. Before the words form, He understands. Before the prayer leaves your lips, He has already made provision, already set things in motion, already responded in ways you may not even see yet.
That is the kind of Father He is.
So when it feels like you are waiting on God, it is not because He is behind. He is not trying to catch up with your situation. If anything, He is already gone ahead of you into it.
There is a comfort in knowing that you are not trying to get God's attention; He already has His eyes on you.
So call on Him. Speak to Him. But rest in this truth: you are not initiating the conversation... you are stepping into one He already started.
Prayer
Lord, thank You that You are always ahead of me. Even before I call, You hear and You answer. Help me to trust that You are already at work in the things I am praying about. Quiet my heart when I feel anxious, and remind me that I am never unseen or unheard by You. Amen.
