El Elyon: The Most High Over It All

A Day 26 devotional on lifting your eyes to the Most High God who reigns above every situation and still works personally in your life.

Today's Reflection

"I will cry out to God Most High, to God who fulfills His purpose for me."

El Elyon is a Hebrew name for God that means "The Most High God."

There is something deeply reassuring about knowing that the God you pray to is not just powerful, but the Most High.

Sometimes life can feel overwhelming. Situations rise, pressures build, and suddenly what you are facing feels bigger than you. And if we are honest, in those moments, it can even feel bigger than our faith.

But El Elyon reminds us of truth over feeling.

God is higher than that situation. Higher than the fear. Higher than the uncertainty. Higher than the delay, the disappointment, and the questions you do not yet have answers to.

And not only is He above it, He is involved.

The psalmist says, "He fulfills His purpose for me." That means the Most High God is actively working, orchestrating, and completing what concerns you.

So when you feel small, remember who your God is. When life feels loud, remember who sits above it all.

El Elyon is not intimidated by what you are going through.

He reigns over it.

Prayer

El Elyon, Most High God, I lift my eyes to You. Thank You that You are above every situation I face. When I feel overwhelmed, remind me that nothing is beyond Your power or Your reach. Help me to trust in Your sovereignty and rest in the truth that You are working all things according to Your purpose for my life. I place everything in Your hands today, knowing You reign over it all. Amen.
