The God Who Can Be Relied On

A Day 7 devotional on the dependable strength of God, our refuge, fortress, and unfailing support.

Today's Reflection

You are my strength, I will sing praise to you; you, God, are my fortress, my God on whom I can rely.

In my language, Twi, we call God Tweduampong, which translates to mean: if you lean on Him, you do not fall. It’s how we, as Akans, describe God: dependable, sustaining, and strong.

That’s exactly what we mean when we call God Tweduampong: the One who covers, sustains, and remains constant no matter what.

The scripture is reminding us that God is our fortress, one on whom we can rely.

He is a father to the fatherless. He is our hope, He is our strength, and just as the scripture said, He is our refuge.

We can walk in confidence that our God can be relied on. He’s not a man that He should lie (Numbers 23:19).

Today bring before the Lord areas in your life that are troubling you and trust the reliable God to come through for you concerning that situation.

Walk in confidence today, knowing that you are held by a God who does not break, does not forget, and does not fail.

Prayer

Lord, You are my refuge and strength. Help me to trust You in every area of my life. Where I feel uncertain, remind me that You are steady. Where I feel weak, remind me that You are strong. I place my burdens in Your hands today, knowing that You are faithful to come through for me. Amen.
