Surrender: Letting Go of the Vine
A study about releasing control, opening your hands before God, and trusting Him where your own plans can no longer carry you.
Study Overview
Surrender is rarely dramatic at first. It usually begins with quiet honesty: admitting where we are forcing outcomes, clinging to comfort, or resisting the work of God. Psalm 51 shows David bringing his whole heart before God, and Romans 12 calls believers to become living sacrifices. This week asks what it means to trust God enough to let Him shape you, even when obedience costs you something.
Read and Reflect
"Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me."
- Where are you trying to control the outcome instead of trusting God with it?
- What would full surrender look like in one practical area of your life this week?
- How does renewing your mind change the way you interpret your current circumstances?
Prayer Prompt
Father, I give You what I have been gripping too tightly. Cleanse what is proud in me, steady what is fearful in me, and teach me to say yes to You with a whole heart.
Action Step
Write one sentence beginning with, "God, I release..." and one sentence beginning with, "God, I trust You with..." Pray both lines aloud each day this week.
