An On Time God

A Day 18 devotional on trusting that God is not late, even when His timing unfolds differently than expected.

Today's Reflection

“He has made everything beautiful in its time.”

She no longer expected anything to change. Her prayers remained, but quieter, less hopeful now, more routine. Life had drained her patience. She had been waiting for closed doors, unanswered questions, and inconsistent timing. She adapted to coping rather than believing.

That morning felt the same as the rest: ordinary, heavy, and predictable. She went about her day with that familiar ache in her chest, trying not to think too deeply, trying not to hope too much.

But God has a way of showing up when you have already decided it is too late.

It did not come when she expected. Not in the way she expected. Not even in the season she thought it would happen.

It came quietly. Unexpectedly. In a moment she almost did not notice at first.

A door opened that had been closed for months. A message came through that she had stopped checking for. A shift happened she did not pray for anymore because she assumed it was gone.

And suddenly, everything she thought was delayed was right on time.

She sat there in disbelief, realizing something she had forgotten: God was never absent. He was just unfolding it differently, in His own time.

Prayer

Lord, thank You that You are never delayed, even when I feel disappointed. Teach me to trust Your timing when mine runs out. Help me not to give up on what You have already planned. I believe You still come through at the perfect time. Amen.
